Gnagna: Under the theme 'Sport and culture in primary school, a springboard for peace and social cohesion,' the grand finale of the sports and cultural activities of the Bogand© Basic Education District (CEB) took place this Saturday, May 3, 2025. A celebration marked by a strong mobilization around the values of fraternity, peace, and living together.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the grounds of the Youra-Yaari primary school, located in sector 1 of the town of Bogand©, were packed for the final of the Primary School Sports and Culture Organization (OSCEP). The highly anticipated match featured Bantia School against the schools grouped together on the Evangelical site, with Bantia School clinching the trophy thanks to a goal scored in the 5th minute by Yentema Madiega.
Beyond football, the day unfolded as a true celebration, punctuated by games, songs, dances, and physical expression. The students showcased their talents in an atmosphere of discipline, respect, and solidarity. The artistic performance was inaugurated by Youl Sandrine and Lankoand© St©phanie, students of the Saint Pierre school, who moved the audience with a poignant recital, setting the tone for an emotional finale.
OSCEP Secretary General Serges Sanou lauded the commitment of the entire educational community to promoting civic values through sport and culture. Meanwhile, the head of the Bogand© CEB, Flavien Yougbare, emphasized that "these activities go well beyond competition. They contribute to the development of responsible citizens, capable of contributing to social peace in our country."
For the first time this year, the 2025 edition was sponsored by primary school principals, acknowledging their essential role in educational continuity. According to Bantia School principal and event sponsor, Issaka Yarga, each school principal contributed financially to the organization, reaffirming their commitment to education.
Parents, teachers, local authorities, and partners showed overwhelming support for a vibrant, inclusive school dedicated to peace. All winners, both in sport and culture, received prizes, further encouraging excellence and perseverance.
