Kombissiri Toddlers Visit National Police Headquarters to Learn Patriotism and Citizenship

Kombissiri: Students from the Kombissiri Sector 1 Early Childhood Education and Training Center visited the Baz¨ga Provincial Police Headquarters in Kombissiri on May 12, 2025. The goal is to instill the values of patriotism and citizenship in young children.

According to Burkina Information Agency, there were 35 children, learners from the senior section of the Preschool Awakening and Education Center (CEEP) in Sector 1 of Kombissiri, who visited the premises of the provincial directorate of the Baz¨ga National Police. This visit, explained the director of CEEP, Boureima Ou©draogo, is part of his organization's activities aimed at fostering patriotism and citizenship from an early age.

Mr. Ou©draogo emphasized the importance of cultivating a love for their country, Burkina Faso, and contributing to its development as adults. He noted the significance of beginning this educational journey with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), key components in ensuring the country's defense and security.

The toddlers, welcomed by Police Commissioner Boureima Kouss©, participated in the raising of the colors, singing the national anthem in the Moor© national language, alongside staff, VDPs, and Assistant Security Volunteers (VADS). Commissioner Kouss© took this opportunity to explain the value of the national flag, the meaning of each color, and the respect every citizen must hold for it.

During the visit, Chief Police Commissioner Saidou Ouoba guided the children and their supervisors through the provincial directorate's various departments, including the Burkinabe National Identity Cards (CNIB) section, the police station, and the accident section. The children learned about traffic safety and were taken into the field to observe traffic regulations and traffic light compliance with the VADS.

At the conclusion of the visit, Commissioner Kouss© and his team appreciated the initiative by the CEEP director, which helps instill patriotic values in the children. The CEEP students expressed their happiness and aspirations to become police officers, recognizing the need to excel academically to achieve their goals.
