Kourweogo: The provincial directorate in charge of Secondary Education in Kourweogo organized the first edition of the Day of Excellence in Bousse, dedicated to celebrating the most deserving students and educational establishments. The event took place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of the province of Kourweogo, Mahama Congo, with the theme: "School excellence and implementation of reforms of the Ministry of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training."
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was sponsored by the CEO of Wend waogo Nabonswende, Moustapha Souli, and brought together administrative and educational authorities, parents, and students. The event celebrated the achievements recorded during the school year with several awards presented, including school kits, tablets, bicycles, and teaching materials.
At the BEPC session 2025, Kiswendsida Kabore from the departmental high school of Laye achieved an average of 18.69 and received a bicycle, a school kit, and 25,000 CFA francs. Louis Ouedraogo from the Dimdolobsom provincial high school in Bousse topped the A series of the baccalaureate with an average of 15.16, while Daouda Ouedraogo from the Niou departmental high school led the D series with 14.04. Both received a school kit and 25,000 CFA francs.
In the technical and vocational education sector, Kader Ouedraogo came first in the Vocational Aptitude Certificate (CAP) with an average of 15.56, and Alidou Ouedraogo was admitted with an average of 15.17. Both students from the Bousse Vocational High School received similar awards.
Abdoulaye Sawadogo, the provincial director in charge of secondary education in Kourweogo, who chaired the organizing committee, commended the commitment of all participants in making the first edition successful. He congratulated the winners and encouraged all students in Kourweogo to continue striving for success.
Issaka Ganemtore, president of the special delegation of the commune of Bousse, emphasized that the initiative reflects the educational community's commitment to fostering a culture of performance in the province's establishments. He noted that excellence results from continuous effort and quality support.
Moustapha Souli expressed gratitude to the provincial directorate for promoting academic merit and urged students to remain focused. The High Commissioner of Kourweogo highlighted that the theme chosen for the event reflects the authorities' determination to implement educational reforms for a high-performing system that supports development and national sovereignty. He called on stakeholders to support and embrace these reforms.
The ceremony concluded with the formal recognition of students and institutions that achieved the best performances.
