Academic Excellence Celebrated in Liptako and Soum

Dori:The regional directors responsible for primary and secondary education in Liptako and Soum co-organized a regional Day of School Excellence, celebrating the achievements of 72 individuals and four educational institutions for their outstanding performance in the 2026 session.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw recognition of 41 Primary School Certificate holders, 15 diploma holders, 12 baccalaureate holders, and four teachers. Awards distributed included eight motorcycles, 56 bicycles, eight laptops, nine tablets, 42 school kits, and complete desktop computers for the four honored institutions.

The event was attended by a jubilant crowd, including educational officials, students, parents, and partners. Boureima Dicko, representing the special municipal delegation of Dori, congratulated the laureates, crediting their success to hard work, discipline, and the support of their teachers and families.

Noufou Tao, the regional director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education, described the day as "a triumph for the school" in the face of security challenges. The region achieved a success rate of 91.24% in the CEP, 52.02% in the BEPC, 79.71% in the BEP, and 71.07% in the baccalaureate.

Franck Napon from IAMGOLD Essakane SA emphasized education as a key development pillar and explained that their support aims to promote merit and academic success. The governor of Liptako and Soum, Abdoul Karim Zongo, expressed gratitude to all educational stakeholders and acknowledged the Defense and Security Forces for ensuring the continuity of education.

The celebration underscored the collective efforts of students, educators, and communities in fostering academic success and cultivating a culture of merit in the region.
