Seno: On Tuesday, community leaders in Falagountou distributed 23 bags of sugar to vulnerable residents of the area, in a show of solidarity during the month of Ramadan. The distribution ceremony was held in the presence of local administrative authorities, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and representatives of the beneficiaries.
According to Burkina Information Agency, these bags of sugar are the result of a voluntary contribution organized by the active forces of the community. The initiative aims to support the most disadvantaged people during this period of strong spirituality and sharing.
The donors indicated that this gesture reflects their desire to express their solidarity with the needy segment of the fasting population, in order to allow them to observe the fast in better conditions. The donation will be distributed among the inhabitants of Falagountou, internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the villages of Gomo and Kargouno, as well as other components of local society identified as vulnerable.
The organizers specified that the distribution will be done equitably, in collaboration with community leaders and local authorities. During the ceremony, representatives of civil society urged the beneficiaries and all those fasting to intensify their prayers for the return of peace and security to Burkina Faso.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, their representative expressed his gratitude to the administrative authorities, the FDS, the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) and all the donors. He also reaffirmed their commitment to pray for the stability of the country.
Through this gesture, the driving forces of Falagountou reaffirmed their commitment to the values of solidarity, social cohesion and mutual support, essential to face the challenges facing the community and the entire nation.
