Ouagadougou: The cycling Stallions of Burkina Faso dominated their Malian counterparts, the cycling Eagles, on Friday in Ouagadougou, during the team time trial event of the Sahel Alliance Games (AES), winning with a time of 13'04''05.
According to Burkina Information Agency, following the success of Soumaila Ilboudo, winner of Thursday's individual time trial, the Burkinabe representatives once again demonstrated their superiority on Avenue Thomas Sankara.
Under the guidance of their coach, J©r©mie Ou©draogo, the Stallions covered the 10.200 km of the event in 13'04''05, displaying an average of 46.836 km/h.
The Malian cycling Eagles, the only opponents of the Burkinabe at the start, crossed the finish line in 13'29''34, thus being 25 seconds and 29 hundredths behind their Burkinabe counterparts.
The Niger cycling team, Mena, third nation in the AES, did not travel to Ouagadougou for this competition.
The cycling program will conclude on Sunday, September 13th with a road race between the national teams of Burkina Faso and Mali. This event will be followed by a race reserved for Burkinabe cycling clubs.
