Ouagadougou: The Society of Agronomic Engineers of Burkina (SIAGROB) expressed its encouragement to producers, at the start of the agricultural campaign, and assured them of its support to achieve the food self-sufficiency advocated by the government.MESSAGE FROM SIAGROB ON THE OCCASION OF THE ENTRY OF THE 2024 AGRICULTURAL CAMPAIGNOn the occasion of the entry of the winter season which marks the beginning of the agricultural campaign for these millions of agricultural producers, the Society of Agricultural Engineers of Burkina (SIAGROB), joins its voice to that of the Minister of Agriculture, Animal and Fishery Resources in particular, and the Government in general, to wish an EXCELLENT AND RESILIENT AGRICULTURAL CAMPAIGN 2024 to all the actresses and all the actors.It takes this opportunity to encourage agricultural producers as well as cooperatives and businesses, the agricultural umbrella organizations of the different agricultural value chains gathered around the Confédération Paysanne Agricole (CP F) and the National Chamber of Agriculture (CNA) to their constant commitments in this quest for food security in Burkina Faso, but also for the economic and social development of the country.Indeed, the role of agriculture in the development of Burkina Faso calls for great individual and collective responsibility for intensive and profitable production on the economic, environmental and social levels.To achieve food security, enormous efforts are being made this year by the Government through the provision of quality production factors, in particular improved seeds and fertilizers, agricultural equipment, and effective agricultural advice to through the Regional Directorates of Agriculture, Animal and Fisheries Resources (DRARH).In this battle for food sovereignty, many agricultural engineers are involved alongside you through all these agricultural advisory structures, but also technical and financial organizations involved in the agricultural sector in Burkina Faso.This is the place for SIAGROB to congratulate and also encourage all these actors committed to your side, despite the difficult situation that the country is going through. It recalls once again that the success of any campaign depends on respecting the application of technical itineraries and also the crop calendars recommended by the agricultural council, on the good management of agricultural inputs and equipment made available to producers but also the professionalization of cooperative societies to ensure support that meets the expectations of their members.Therefore, she urges everyone to be more active in their resilience to succeed in the food challenge of feeding all the inhabitants of Burkina Faso.
