Nanoro: The agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) came on Monday to present their certificate of completion of training to the President of the special delegation of Nanoro, AIB observed.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this recognition is a symbol of gratitude for the beneficiaries of this initiative, which aligns with the vision of the country's highest authorities. The training program, initiated by the National Bureau of Major Projects (BN-GP), offered 25 young people from Nanoro comprehensive instruction in agriculture, livestock farming, fish farming, and soil conservation from January 4th to March 15th, 2026.

In total, 13 modules were delivered. The president of the special delegation of Nanoro, Nourou Guiguemde, congratulated and advised the beneficiaries, urging them to be courageous agents and role models in work and selflessness, and to be resilient.

"I ask you to be good VDPs like those engaged on the front lines because you are the ones who can boost food self-sufficiency in the municipality and on a national level. You already have a space of 12.5 hectares available on which you will put to use the skills you acquired during your training," he declared.

Robert Konkobo, the agricultural delegate for the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland in Nanoro, expressed gratitude to the local administrative and national authorities for the initiative. He emphasized that they are well-equipped with the basic skills necessary to increase the food supply in Burkina Faso.

"We are very proud of our president, we have been very well trained and are ready to put our knowledge into practice. To do this, we ask for your support in terms of equipment, especially fencing for our site to avoid conflicts between livestock farmers and crop farmers," he said.
