Ouahigouya: The correspondent of the Burkina Faso Information Agency (AIB), Abdoul Salam Ouarma, who is also a man of culture, was crowned Ambassador of Peace by the Federation for Universal Peace (FPU) on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Ouahigouya. "It is a noble mission that we will have to succeed for sure," said Abdoul Salam Ouarma on Saturday as he received the title of ambassador for peace. "It is a title that we welcome with humility, honor, and commitment," he added.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Abdoul Salam Ouarma emphasized the importance of fostering peace in the current context that Burkina Faso is experiencing. He highlighted the significant responsibility of continuing to sow peace in often fractured hearts and of bringing communities together beyond their differences, prejudices, and other divisions.
Ouarma has dedicated nearly three decades to advocating for peace through various channels such as forum theatre, conferences, microphones, pen, and teaching. He founded the association Atelier ThStre du Loroum (ATL) in 1999, which serves as the cornerstone of his vision for peace and action in the province of Loroum. From training and establishing peace committees to caring for vulnerable individuals, organizing community days, and raising awareness among schoolchildren, Ouarma's initiatives have significantly contributed to promoting a culture of peace, aligning with the objectives of the Foundation for Universal Peace.
During the ceremony on Saturday, a total of 70 peacebuilders from different socio-professional backgrounds were also honored with the title of ambassador of peace, further highlighting the collective effort to foster unity and harmony.
