An Association Launches the Community Drilling Project


K©n©dougou: The High Commissioner of the province of K©n©dougou, Sadou Sakira, launched the community drilling project in Orodara. The project is implemented by the Association jeunesse solidaire et vaillante (AJSV) and is subsidized by the NGO Lumi¨re of South Korea.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the community drilling project will see 33 boreholes drilled, benefiting the populations of the communes of Orodara, Samorogouan, Samogohiri, Djigouera, Koloko, and Kourinion. The launch event, chaired by Sadou Sakira, took place on January 14, 2025, in Orodara.



Ange Madeleine Garango, the representative of the president of AJSV, expressed satisfaction with the strong participation at the ceremony. She highlighted that the support and involvement in the project reflect its significance for the community and strengthen the resolve to collaborate for a better future. Garango also mentioned future projects related to renewable energies, aimed at providing development and growth opportunities for the communities.



Sadou Sakira, the High Commissioner, emphasized the role of solidarity in promoting social cohesion and strengthening community ties. He noted that solidarity helps communities overcome obstacles. Sakira also expressed gratitude to AJSV and their partner, the NGO Lumi¨re, for their efforts in the region, particularly in K©n©dougou.



The High Commissioner hopes that this drilling project will inspire further initiatives focused on solidarity and community development. The Jeunesse Solidaire and Vaillante Association, established on October 5, 2021, aims to significantly reduce the number of vulnerable people and promote humanism without borders.
