Guiriko: APEC exchanges with distribution stakeholders in Bobo-Dioulasso: This meeting is part of an effort to improve access to and availability of the product throughout the country. Its aim was to gather the concerns of distributors and users in order to identify the difficulties related to the marketing and distribution of A'diaa double concentrated tomato paste.
According to Burkina Information Agency, SOBTO officials revealed that of the 22 authorized distributors selected when A'diaa double concentrated tomato paste was launched on the national market, only five are still fulfilling their contractual obligations. This situation, they say, is impacting the regularity of supply in certain parts of the country.
The discussions highlighted logistical and organizational challenges, particularly regarding product delivery to remote areas. However, several participants praised the quality of A'diaa's double-concentrated tomato paste, deeming it competitive and well-suited to local culinary practices.
For the Director General of APEC, Karim Traor©, the meeting was intended as a forum for listening and consultation. "We are gathered this morning to exchange ideas with distributors of the A'diaa product as well as restaurant owners. The aim of this meeting is to collect feedback from distributors to see if they encounter any particular difficulties on the ground in getting the product to the different regions of Burkina Faso," he stated.
The Director General of APEC recalled that this initiative is in line with the vision of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, who aims to promote the consumption of products from Burkinabe industry in order to achieve sustainable food sovereignty. "We want total coverage of the national territory, so that even in the most remote villages, A'diaa is available to citizens. It is our duty to get the product to all Burkinabe," he stated.
Karim Traor© also announced the upcoming establishment of new industrial units designed to increase production volumes and ensure sustainable availability of the product nationwide.
From the users' perspective, hotel and restaurant owner Franck Bambara was pleased with consumer adoption of the product. "The product is very popular. It's the one I use. However, we sometimes experience shortages. I hope that distribution will be expanded and availability improved," he argued.
This meeting reflects the desire of the authorities and economic actors to consolidate the distribution chain of A'diaa double concentrated tomato paste, with a view to better coverage of the national market.
