Djibo: Subscribers of the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) in the Soum region appointed Comrade Issoufou BOKOUM as regional delegate of subscribers and Comrade Boucari TAMBOURA as alternate on Monday, August 3, 2026 in Djibo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the proceedings, chaired by Comrade High Commissioner of the Soum province, Wend Nere Wilfried TOUGMA, who represented Comrade Governor of the Liptako-Soum region, Abdoul Karim Zongo, provided an opportunity to present the agency's report and its outlook for the period 2026-2027. Held in the Djibo town hall meeting room, participants reviewed APEC's activity report, explored its economic model, and discussed the agency's future prospects before selecting their regional representatives.
At the conclusion of the proceedings, Comrade Issoufou BOKOUM was appointed as the regional delegate of subscribers, with Comrade Boucari TAMBOURA as the alternate regional delegate. In his address, the High Commissioner reminded attendees that APEC is an initiative by Comrade President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, designed to promote community-based businesses to foster endogenous development driven by the local population.
He emphasized that the establishment of regional representation would enable Soum, as a new administrative region, to contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Burkina Faso. He commended the resilience of the province's people, who continue to support national development initiatives despite facing security challenges.
The High Commissioner urged the newly appointed representatives to be attentive to the needs of the people, to enhance awareness of APEC's benefits, and to encourage active subscriber participation across the region's municipalities. He also expressed a desire to see the growth of community-based businesses and industrial units that generate wealth and employment.
Nouridine KONF‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦¡¬°, the provincial coordinator of APEC Soum, expressed approval for the establishment of this regional representation. He stated that this structure would bolster the promotion of APEC, provide better support for subscribers, and improve the governance of the agency in the region.
Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed representatives, Comrade Issoufou BOKOUM extended gratitude to the participants for their trust and called for collective support and guidance to succeed in the mission of advancing the development of Soum.
