Sandbondtenga: The Association of Young People Committed to Community Health (AJESC) of Koulse organized a social cohesion day on Saturday in Pissila, under the theme: "For my community, I commit myself." This initiative mobilized administrative and customary authorities as well as the populations of the commune around health, sporting, and cultural activities aimed at strengthening community life.
According to Burkina Information Agency, a large delegation composed of customary and administrative figures from Kaya, a commune linked to Pissila by joking kinship relations, also made the trip to show their support for the activity. The event aimed to foster social cohesion, living together, and civic engagement among the populations of Pissila, who have long faced security and humanitarian challenges.
The day's activities commenced at the Pissila Medical Centre with a free HIV and hepatitis screening session, providing health advice to the population. The schedule included a gala match between the Pissila natives' team and the Servants of the People team, which ended in a goalless draw.
The president of the special delegation (PDS) of Pissila, Tambi Zouma, expressed support for the initiative. "We wholeheartedly support such actions and will spare no effort to provide our support as much as possible," he stated. Additionally, certificates of recognition were awarded to several individuals who contributed to the success of the event.
The day concluded with an open-air concert featuring local artists, entertaining the crowd until dawn.
