Banwa: At least 780 small ruminants composed of goats and sheep were distributed to 195 beneficiaries, mainly internally displaced persons and host populations, by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, Animal and Fisheries Resources of Banwa in Solenzo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative is part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries' efforts to support internally displaced people and their hosts towards empowerment. The ministry transported 780 small ruminants to Solenzo to assist 195 individuals in revitalizing their economy through livestock.

The beneficiaries received varying numbers of animals; some were given 3 goats, a goat, while others received 3 ewes and a ram. For Anata Sanou, a resident of the village of Koma, the receipt of these animals was an emotional moment. "I can't help but shed tears because since I was born I have never had a goat in my name. Today, I received 4. I can't believe it. I will maintain them and pray to God that in two years, what I have received will multiply to end my poverty," expressed Anata Sanou.

The distribution event was attended by the High Commissioner of Banwa province, Sanfinal Joseph Sirima, who was joined by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Solenzo, Marou Ilboudo, and the Provincial Director of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries, Madou Coulibaly. Each beneficiary also received 4 bags of feed and veterinary products at no cost.

The High Commissioner emphasized accountability by stating, "Whoever is going to sell for him is the police who will come to get him, we will follow everyone with their animals and the one who is not going to take care of him will come to answer."
