Attorney Issa Sebgo Officially Installed as Chief Clerk of High Court

Sandbondtenga: The High Court (TGI) of Leo held a formal ceremony on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, to install its new Chief Clerk, Issa Sebgo. He succeeds Bayere Oumar, who has been appointed to a new position in Ouagadougou, following a performance deemed "very satisfactory" by his superiors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the courtroom of the High Court (TGI) of Leo served as the setting, on April 14, 2026, for an exceptional hearing. Administrative authorities, headed by the High Commissioner of the Sissili province, Tewende Isaac Sia, constituted bodies, and legal professionals attended the official installation of Ma®tre Issa Sebgo.

Appointed by decree, Mr. Sebgo now serves as Chief Clerk of the High Court and the Administrative Court of Leo. During the hearing, the Prosecutor of Faso at the said court, Hamed Ouattara, requested that the newly appointed official be reinstated in his duties, while also paying a heartfelt tribute to his predecessor. "The greatest tribute one can pay to a departing official is the regret expressed by their colleagues," the prosecutor emphasized.

During the installation ceremony, the President of the court, Fran§ois Kabore, commended the professionalism of outgoing Chief Clerk Bayere Oumar, who had taken office in January 2023. He particularly praised his humility and dedication to serving the people of Sissili and Ziro, before welcoming his successor. "In taking command of the Leo court registry, I have no doubt that you will be able to meet the challenges of your position, drawing on your 16 years of experience," he said to Mr. Sebgo.

Master Bayere Oumar's tenure as head of the Leo court registry was marked by significant results. In his farewell address, the outgoing official revealed a dramatic increase in the court's revenue. "Our recoveries have risen from 8 million to 29 million CFA francs. This result was made possible thanks to the involvement of the entire court," he stated.

He urged his successor to cultivate a spirit of collaboration and openness towards litigants. "Our ultimate goal is that litigants, who often arrive with heavy hearts, can leave relieved."

Aware of the magnitude of the task, the new Chief Clerk, Issa Sebgo, expressed his gratitude to the judicial authorities for the trust placed in him. He praised the "remarkable" work of his predecessor and stated his readiness to continue this momentum of excellence.

Mr. Sebgo will be able to count on the support of his colleagues, particularly in the debt collection office, to achieve the objectives set for the year 2026. The outgoing Chief Clerk, Mr. Oumar, is joining the Directorate of Legislation and Codification at the Ministry of Justice.
