Boulkiemd©: Rural development engineer Issa Kabor© presented his book "Sustainable Agriculture in Africa: Issues, Challenges and Perspectives for Rural Stakeholders" in Koudougou on Saturday, urging for agriculture to be repositioned as the cornerstone of Burkina Faso's development. Kabor© emphasized the importance of integrating traditional knowledge with sustainable innovations to build a resilient agricultural sector in Africa.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the book signing event drew several notable figures, including patron Adama Boro, the Director General of Land, Training and Rural Organization, and the preface writer, Honorable Marc Bertin Gansonr©, Member of the Transitional Legislative Assembly and Administrator of the Peasant Confederation of Faso.
Patron Adama Boro commended the book's relevance, stating it addresses key stakeholders in the rural sector, including technicians and decision-makers. He underscored themes such as agricultural financing, producer support, and the urgency to boost national production for food security. Boro urged institutions to adopt the book to better assist rural communities.
Marc Bertin Gansonr© highlighted the author's provision of practical solutions, including the promotion of agroecological practices and inclusive agricultural governance. He described the book as a significant contribution and vowed to support its dissemination among farmers' organizations, noting that the Peasant Confederation of Faso has over 2.5 million members.
Publisher Idrissa Sor© introduced the book by highlighting Kabor©'s background as a graduate of the Polytechnic University of Bobo-Dioulasso and an expert in plant production. Sor© noted that the book serves as a valuable tool for producers, decision-makers, researchers, and students.
The ceremony, attended by various technical and administrative officials, concluded with a call for the book's widespread distribution to benefit rural communities.
