Baccalaureate Exams for 2026 Session Begin with 849 Candidates in Liptako and Soum


Dori: The governor of the Liptako and Soum region, Abdoul Karim Zongo, officially launched the 2026 baccalaureate exams in Dori on Tuesday. A total of 849 candidates, including 384 girls and 465 boys, are taking part in this exam in the various centers of the region.



According to Burkina Information Agency, candidates for this session are divided into four examination centers, including two in Dori, one in Djibo, and one in Gorom-Gorom. They are taking the exams in the A4, C, and D series, as well as in several professional fields, including agriculture, solar energy, and meat and egg processing. The number of candidates has slightly decreased compared to the previous session in 2025, which had 901 candidates distributed across five centers.



The regional director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training, Salifou Porgo, assured that all necessary measures had been taken to ensure the smooth running of the exams. He praised the dedication of those involved in the education system, as well as the Defense and Security Forces, for their contribution to the organization of the exams despite the challenging security situation in the region.



Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo addressed the candidates, wishing them success and encouraging them to show determination throughout the exams. He reminded them of the region’s national achievement in the 2025 baccalaureate session, urging them to maintain their performance and demonstrate the resilience of the people of Liptako and Soum.



To promote academic excellence, the governor announced rewards for the top students in this session. Computers and motorcycles will be awarded to the most deserving students to encourage healthy competition among them.



The launch of the 2026 baccalaureate exams in the Liptako and Soum regions highlights the commitment of administrative and educational authorities to ensure the continuity of education despite security challenges. With 849 candidates registered, there is hope that the region will build upon the excellent results achieved in the previous session.
