Bagassi Special Delegation Reviews 2027 Budget Guidelines in Extraordinary Session

Bagassi:The special municipal delegation of Bagassi in the province of Balé conducted its first extraordinary session of the year, focusing on the 2027 budget guidelines, financial resource mobilization, and the examination of deliberations. The session took place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, under the leadership of Souleymane Ouédraogo, President of the Special Delegation (PDS).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting allowed municipal members to discuss the operational needs of the municipal administration and the planned investments for 2027. Before addressing the agenda, four new staff members were introduced, with arrangements made for them to assume their roles by November 1, 2026.

The municipal treasurer, Gérald Joël Tiaho, presented the recovery situation, highlighting difficulties in mobilizing financial resources. In response, the PDS urged stakeholders to enhance efforts to improve municipal revenue, with hopes of achieving a budget between 500 million and one billion FCFA by 2027 to better serve the population.

The operational guidelines aim to ensure administrative service continuity, strengthen municipal administration capacities, and secure necessary resources for municipal services. Investment proposals focus on improving educational and health infrastructure, access to drinking water and energy, and road and administrative infrastructure development.

In education, the municipality plans to continue classroom construction and rehabilitation, improve learning conditions, and enhance school equipment, particularly through solar installations. Health sector projects aim to upgrade health infrastructure and equipment, while water and infrastructure investments seek to improve access to basic social services.

Discussions clarified uncertainties and helped prioritize investments, moving some projects previously considered secondary to top priorities. The special delegation also deliberated on the rental of a room at the Bagassi Vocational Training Centre, setting the price at 15,000 FCFA for meetings and gatherings.

Additionally, the head of the health center requested the special delegation to ask the mining company to water Bagassi's main road due to dust and respiratory issues reported among patients. The meeting also announced the opening of a Dioula language literacy center on October 26, 2026, for workers and interested individuals, and informed participants about the inter-establishment cup scheduled for November 3, 2026.
