Seguenega: Local authorities and sons of the diaspora from the Gambo area laid the foundation stone for an educational complex in Bakou on Thursday, April 16, 2026, for the benefit of the educational community in order to address the overcrowding of the village school, AIB observed.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this is an infrastructure that will be built in the "Faso Mebo" style thanks to the combined efforts of the resident populations and especially the diaspora of the Gambo area, through various voluntary contributions.
The president of the diaspora, Boukary ZallE, explained how the funds were raised and, at the same time, justified the choice of Bakou for the establishment of these school infrastructures.
The head of the Seguenega 1 district, Noaga Michel Kindo, welcomed this initiative, which aligns perfectly with the wishes of the country's highest authorities who advocate for genuine independence and sovereignty. He noted that the infrastructure will house School B of Bakou, thereby improving the learning environment for students, particularly those in the first grade (CP1), which has over 200 students this academic year.
The vice president of the special delegation of Seguenega, Yacouba Guiro, congratulated education stakeholders for their resilience and thanked donors for thinking of the key sector of education.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of school supplies and food to primary school students, the presentation of incentive bonuses to secondary school students, and the symbolic laying of the foundation stone.
The donors have pledged to hand over the keys to the infrastructure within four months. These buildings will serve as the site for Bakou School B, with the support of the educational authorities.
Several local and other prominent figures took part in this ceremony.
