Banwa: The agricultural VDP (Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland) of Balave receive agricultural equipment and seeds for the rainy season. As part of the presidential initiative for food self-sufficiency, the comrade president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Balave, Jules Kabore, proceeded on Thursday, July 2, 2026, to hand over agricultural equipment and certified seeds to the agricultural VDP of the locality.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the kit consists of seeds, including maize, peanuts, cowpeas, and okra, as well as agricultural equipment such as seed drills, two sprayers (an electric sprayer and a simple sprayer), and tarpaulins. PDS Comrade Jules Kabore reminded the beneficiaries of the objectives of their training and the importance of the task entrusted to them.

He urged them to demonstrate patriotism, courage, discipline, and unity to effectively succeed in their mission, which is to ensure food security in the commune and the wider Banwa province. The comrade president of the special delegation of Balave reassured the agricultural VDP of the support and assistance of the municipal authorities and all relevant competent services for the smooth running of their mission.

Before concluding his remarks, Comrade Kabore gave them advice and invited them to make good use of the equipment received and to maintain it properly. The valiant agricultural VDPs have pledged to work towards achieving the goal of food self-sufficiency in their communal area and throughout Burkina Faso.
