Bale: 104 Motorcycles and 10 Million CFA Francs Donated to Support Bagassi Community

Bagassi: The Special Delegation of Bagassi handed over 104 motorcycles to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and contributed 10 million CFA francs to the patriotic support fund in a ceremony on November 7, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw the participation of local administrative authorities, beneficiaries, and residents of the commune. The VDP communal coordinator and the commissioner of the Bagassi police station received the motorcycles. Of these, four motorcycles were allocated to the Bagassi National Police. Additionally, the delegation provided a check for 6 million CFA francs to cover fuel and maintenance costs.

Residents of Bagassi contributed to the patriotic support fund with 10 million CFA francs, showcasing their commitment to community development. The special delegation also supported local weavers by providing 42 looms and a significant amount of cleaning equipment for the green brigade.

The president of the special delegation, Souleymane Ouedraogo, explained that the municipality mobilized nearly 115 million FCFA from its own resources and the local mining development fund to acquire the motorcycles, which cost 93,599,648 FCFA including tax. This funding included a fuel allocation of 6,000,000 FCFA for the VDP.

Ouedraogo further detailed a contribution of 10,000,000 FCFA to the Patriotic Support Fund and the provision of looms and sanitation equipment valued at 5,880,000 FCFA for women volunteers. His Majesty Chief Amedee Ye of the Bagassi canton praised the local officials and residents for their efforts and encouraged the beneficiaries to use the motorcycles responsibly for community protection and peace.

The head of the special delegation highlighted the importance of safeguarding public property, recalling a statement by Head of State Captain Ibrahim Traore on the consequences of damaging public assets. The event concluded with expressions of gratitude from the VDP, the green brigade, and women beneficiaries for the community's dedication to service.
