Bale: The Bagassi special delegation held its third regular session, focusing on budget amendments and new project approvals. Chaired by Souleymane Ouedraogo, this meeting included significant discussions on community safety and economic development initiatives.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session featured a presentation from Gouabe Patrice of the National Fire Brigade’s 6th Company. Patrice advocated for stronger collaboration with local populations and highlighted the brigade’s readiness to provide emergency first aid training. This initiative aims to empower citizens and students to respond to accidents efficiently.
In addressing infrastructure, Souleymane Ouedraogo mentioned a reserved site for a municipal fire brigade, indicating this would be a priority in future budget considerations.
Adama Sango from Immediate Business International presented plans for multifunctional processing units for sesame, peanut paste, and shea butter. These units are designed with varying production capacities, directly creating jobs and supporting local agriculture. The projected costs for the units range from 50 to 70 million FCFA, reflecting different scales of operation.
The session also included the adoption of two projects, including the admission of certain debts and setting rental prices for municipal facilities. These financial decisions are expected to enhance local government revenue by over 75 million FCFA, which will be directed towards community projects such as food assistance, borehole construction, and technical equipment procurement.
Local administrative authorities confirmed that these projects will support vulnerable populations and enhance municipal services. The session concluded with the election of new committee heads, ensuring continued governance and oversight of ongoing initiatives.
