Poni: Bambifoot is organizing a festival in Gaoua to promote football among toddlers and identify future talents. The regional coordination of Bambifoot, in collaboration with the Burkinabe Football Federation, organized this Sunday at the regional stadium in Gaoua a festival dedicated to the promotion of football among toddlers and the detection of future talents.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the activity is part of the Bambifoot project, an initiative of the Burkinabe Football Federation implemented with the support of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), aimed at encouraging the practice of football among children from a young age. Souleymane Pagbelem, representative of the national coordination of Bambifoot, stated that the festival constitutes an important step in the implementation of the project.
"The Bambifoot project aims to promote the practice of football among children in order to detect and train future talents capable of representing Burkina Faso on the national and international stages," he explained. Mr. Pagbelem further detailed that the project is currently in its second phase, following a first phase deemed satisfactory and praised by FIFA. This new phase is being rolled out in six regions of Burkina Faso.
He also noted the technical progress observed among the children during the festival, in ball handling exercises, team games, penalty shootouts, and slaloms, compared to the previous gathering. The regional director of Sports, Youth and Employment of Dj´r´, Sibiri Felix Zougrana, praised the strong mobilization of children around this talent detection initiative.
Mr. Zougrana congratulated the young participants for their commitment in the various workshops and expressed gratitude to the supervisors and all those involved who contributed to the success of the activity. He emphasized that these children represent the future of Burkinabe sport and invited parents to support and accompany their children in their sporting training.
He further encouraged the trainers to continue their mentoring work to foster the emergence of new talents capable of proudly representing Burkina Faso. Several girls and boys from schools in Gaoua participated in this festival. The promoters of the Bambifoot project intend to strengthen the foundations of national football by providing children with a learning environment conducive to the emergence of tomorrow's talents.
