Banwa: The National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC) in Sanaba mobilized numerous young people on Saturday, August 22, 2026, for a city cleanup operation. The initiative aims to improve the living conditions of the population and contribute to the prevention of diseases related to unsanitary conditions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, at the call of Honor Dakuyo, president of the CNAVC (National Council for the Coordination of Civic Action) in Sanaba, young people, whether members of the movement or not, mobilized in large numbers for this civic action. The activity began around 7 a.m. Equipped with pickaxes, machetes, rakes, and other tools, the participants worked in several neighborhoods, services, and public spaces throughout the city.

To the rhythm of traditional griot music, volunteers cleaned public spaces, cut back overgrown weeds, and destroyed mosquito breeding grounds. This activity is part of a broader citizen mobilization effort and contributes to the belated commemoration of International Youth Day.

At the conclusion of the operation, the president of the Village Development Committee, Ombou Coulibaly, commended the strong mobilization of the young people. He encouraged them to maintain the cleaned areas in a permanently clean state to help prevent diseases related to unsanitary conditions. He also called on households to take ownership of the initiative by ensuring the cleanliness of their properties and their immediate surroundings.

Honor Dakuyo, president of the CNAVC Sanaba branch, expressed his delight at the youth participation. He stated that this mobilization reflects their attachment to their community and their desire to contribute to its development. The organizers hope to see this momentum continue in order to make sanitation an ongoing activity, involving households and all residents of the community.
