Banwa: Two boreholes and two latrines for IDPs in Solenzo

Ouagadougou: The internally displaced women of Solenzo benefited from two boreholes and two latrines, the AIB learned on site this Friday, at the handover ceremony of the achievements, in sector 3 of Solenzo.The inaugural ceremony of the jewel was chaired by Abdoul Kader Kongzabré, Secretary General of the Banwa province in the presence of provincial directors and department heads as well as several IDP women who came out in large numbers on the occasion.The two boreholes and latrines were erected in sector 3 and sector 1 of the city.'We are very happy because the first problem for a woman is water and then the toilet,' reacted Abibou Porgo, representative of the beneficiaries. 'When we came here we had no water and the wells were dry,' she remembers before calling on her comrades to take good care of these achievements.'There are nearly 40,000 internally displaced people in Solenzo and when the NGO EngenderHealth offered us this humanitarian aid, we hastily accepted the offer,' launched Solenzo's PDS Abdoul Karim Diaby.According to him, these boreholes equipped with human-powered pumps and two latrines will allow beneficiaries to preserve their health and dignity.After cutting the ribbon, the Secretary General of the Banwa province Abdoul Kader Kongzabré, the PDS of Solenzo Abdoul Karim Diaby and the representative of the beneficiaries ran the water from the pump to receive the jewel.Source: Burkina Information Agency
