Barga: The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Barga, W. Augustin Ilboudo, has called on the people to value local resources during an official ceremony he presided over, AIB observed on site. The event marked the third edition of the national days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation, with a significant turnout from the educational community in the municipality. Participants united in singing the Ditany¨ in the Moore language, signifying a return to local languages.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Ilboudo PDS read and commented on a message from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore. Paraphrasing the President, Ilboudo emphasized that "the time for mental conditioning is over," and highlighted the vision of a new Burkinab¨ who consciously chooses to transform their habits. The PDS stressed the importance of collective awareness for a patriotic surge that could elevate Burkina Faso on the global stage.
Daouda Sigue, head of the Barga Basic Education District (CCEB), emphasized the President's call for unity, particularly among the older generation. He expressed confidence that students and teachers would uphold the values advocated by authorities to foster a genuine return to local consumption. To support this, a comprehensive program will be introduced in the coming days to enhance previous years' achievements in patriotic commitment and citizen participation, according to CCEB Sigue.
Amidou Ouedraogo, representing the provincial director of primary education in Yatenga, expressed optimism about the success of this year's theme, given the enthusiasm and commitment from stakeholders.
