Barsalogho High School Urges Students to Embrace Local Produce for National Growth

Sandbondtenga: The principal of the Barsalogho departmental high school, Mahamady Zebret, has encouraged students to turn the slogan "My plate, my pride" into tangible actions. This call to action was made during a flag-raising ceremony attended by administrative and teaching staff, along with members of the school council.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Zebret communicated the message from the President of Burkina Faso, advising both staff and students on the importance of consuming locally produced goods. He highlighted the benefits of prioritizing rice cultivated in the lowlands of Tamasgo and Gabou, as a means to support local farmers, boost the commune's development, and enhance the nation's prosperity.

Zebret urged the students to adopt this slogan as a guiding principle in their daily lives and encouraged staff to lead by example, ensuring that the values they promote are actively practiced. The theme, "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let us cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption," will be explored through various activities at the school, including sanitation operations and civic responsibility awareness sessions.
