Baz¨ga: The security forces of the province are strengthening the vegetation cover with 300 seedlings planted. The Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in collaboration with the special delegation of Kombissiri contributed to the consolidation of the vegetation cover with 300 plants planted on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Zams site.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) of the Baz¨ga province, alongside members of the special delegation of the commune of Kombissiri and the local population, planted over 300 plants of various species. This initiative, dubbed "green cohesion," took place at the Zams site located at the southern exit of Kombissiri. It aimed to enhance the region's vegetation cover and aligns with the nation's broader environmental goals.

Comrade Sanata Domo, the provincial director of Water and Forests for Baz¨ga, remarked on the significance of this endeavor, noting that it marks the first of its kind. "We hope to make it a permanent feature because it demonstrates the good collaboration between the security forces and all the technical services of the province, with the remarkable contribution of the population under the leadership of the provincial authority," she stated.

The reforestation effort included the planting of approximately three hundred plants from local species such as tamarind, baobab, moringa, raisin tree, plum tree, Sahel date palm, and ebony. Participants in the initiative included traditional healers and individuals engaged in mandatory patriotic immersion in Kombissiri in 2026.

Support for the project came from various partners, including the Constitutional Council, the Red Cross, and the ASSED association, all of which contributed to the provision of plants.
