Baz¨ga: The official closing ceremony of the first phase of civic and patriotic education for students in Baz¨ga province took place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Kombissiri. The event was attended by provincial authorities and marked with widespread satisfaction.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this six-week civic and patriotic immersion began on January 12 and trained 8,620 students, including 5,130 girls, across 25 secondary schools in the Nazinon region. The program aimed to instill order and discipline among the students.

The provincial high school in Kombissiri hosted the closing ceremony, bringing together the participating students from various schools in the city. Bozi e Edwige Marie Gilberte Som e, director in charge of secondary education in Baz¨ga, explained that the supervision was provided by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), along with health, youth, and employment services and other civilians.

Police commissioner Madi Ou edraogo, deputy central commissioner of Kombissiri and focal point for the FDS trainers, stated that the training involved physical exercises in close order and soldier school, which were essential for instilling order and discipline.

Student representative Sarah Zangr e expressed commitment to integrating values of community living, solidarity, environmental citizenship, respect for public property, discipline, and patriotism into their lives. "This immersion will help us become responsible citizens, proud of our identity," she stated.

T en e Justine Kientega/Ilboudo, High Commissioner of Baz¨ga Province, presided over the ceremony, congratulating the students and instructors for their dedication. She encouraged the students to become ambassadors of Burkinab¨ civic values and to exemplify civic responsibility and patriotism in their communities.

The ceremony also featured students explaining the symbols and anthem of the AES (Alliance of Sahel States), demonstrating military drills, and singing the anthem of the AES Confederation.
