Zabre:Boulgou/Zabre The municipal authorities of Zabre have initiated the construction of a three-classroom school in the village of Beka. This project, launched on Thursday, is supported by the buildOn project and the active participation of the local community.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the project follows a community-driven approach where residents of Beka have committed to supplying aggregates and labor. In exchange, buildOn will provide technicians and construction equipment.
The event featured speeches of gratitude from the chief of Beka, who highlighted the project as a vital investment for the village's children. Representatives explained the project's approach, and the head of the basic education district (CCEB) of Zabre 2, Arrouna Zanne, along with Honore Nanga, the second vice-president of the special delegation of the commune, both addressed the gathering.
The CCEB of Zabre 2 stressed the role of community involvement in developing educational infrastructure, urging continued support for the project's success. Honore Nanga applauded this collaborative effort, hoping similar initiatives will thrive in Zabre to empower local communities.
Project leaders estimate the school's completion within sixty-nine days. Additional activities during school holidays, including literacy sessions and income-generating programs for Beka's women, are also planned.
