Boulgou: The High Commissioner of Boulgou province, Dom¨gb¨gr© Constantin Dabir©, presided over the closing workshop of the NATANN2 project at the Marie Immacul©e Center of OCADES Caritas in Tenkodogo. This event marked the conclusion of the project's second phase and showcased its outcomes.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the NATANN2 project was executed by OCADES Caritas Tenkodogo in collaboration with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), funded by German and Swiss cooperation through the PATRIP Foundation. It aimed to enhance community resilience and foster peace and social cohesion, having been launched in April 2023 for a two-year duration. The project focused on promoting social cohesion, infrastructure development, and financial empowerment for the beneficiaries.
CRS project manager Inoussa Sawadogo stated that the project exceeded its target, reaching over 8,000 beneficiaries instead of the planned 6,000. Efforts included forming internal savings and credit groups among youth and women, empowering them to engage in income-generating activities. Sawadogo expressed gratitude to OCADES, authorities, and stakeholders, and expressed hope for the initiation of a third phase to build on the project's achievements.
The High Commissioner emphasized the project's role in addressing community concerns and promoting peace over its two-year implementation. He urged for the renewal of the project into a third phase to further the established foundations for inclusive development and dialogue.
Sami B©renger Poda, president of the Tenkodogo special delegation, highlighted the project's success in his commune, noting infrastructure and community development initiatives. He extended thanks to partners and implementers for their contributions.
Father D. Lucien Galbani, diocesan executive secretary of OCADES Caritas Tenkodogo, underscored the importance of community commitment and solidarity in the project's success. He expressed appreciation to the financial partners and all those who supported the initiative.
The workshop served as a platform for reviewing the project's impact and calling on partners and local authorities to maintain the momentum of support to continue benefiting the population.
