Ouagadougou: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE, accompanied by the Minister Delegate, Ms. Bªbgnansgna Stella Eldine KABRE/KABORE, received in audience, on Thursday, January 15, the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Libya in Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this visit is part of a dynamic of revitalizing bilateral cooperation between Burkina Faso and Libya, two countries united by historical relations of friendship, solidarity, and fraternity.
On this occasion, the Libyan diplomat stressed the importance of maintaining a permanent dialogue to consolidate and strengthen relations between the two states. "We must work to preserve dialogue and strengthen our relations," he said.
He also reaffirmed his country's willingness to collaborate with Burkina Faso to achieve more concrete results in areas of cooperation such as the economy, trade, and air transport. With this in mind, he proposed opening a direct air route between Ouagadougou and Tripoli to stimulate trade between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister welcomed this proposal and the constructive approach of the Libyan diplomat. He indicated that Burkina Faso remains committed to maintaining a continuous dialogue with Libya and to working together with the Libyan authorities to give new impetus to bilateral cooperation. "There is strong potential to be exploited and we must work towards this," argued the Burkinabe Foreign Minister.
At this audience, the Burkinabe Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Charge d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy recalled the nobility of the revolutionary struggle led by the Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, for the sovereignty and liberation of Africa, considering that his disappearance constitutes a great loss for the African continent. In the same spirit, they welcomed the sovereignist vision put forward by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, and stressed the imperative need to protect our revolutionary leaders against imperialist forces.
