Burkina faso: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Bittou recorded an exceptional success rate of 98.76% in the Primary School Certificate (CEP) and the entrance examination to sixth grade, 2026 session.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the results were announced on Saturday around 10 a.m. in the pouring rain. In an atmosphere of hope, curiosity, and emotion, students, parents, and supervisors listened attentively to the announcement. The candidates' heartbeats and the parents' rapt attention testified to the importance of this event for the families.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the president of the Special Delegation of the municipality of Bittou, Mohamed Lamine Diabat©, officials of decentralized services, educational supervisors, monitors, parents' associations as well as the Defense and Security Forces (FDS).
According to the head of the CEB, 903 candidates were registered, including 421 boys and 482 girls. In total, 885 candidates actually sat for the exam, while 18 students dropped out of school to join gold mining sites, he indicated.
'The results achieved represent a real challenge met given the security situation in our area,' said Mr. Yam©ogo. He welcomed this performance, which far exceeded the CEB's target of 98%.
The head of basic education in Bittou commended the resilience of teachers, students, parents, and all stakeholders in the education system who contributed to achieving these results. He also expressed his gratitude to the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of school activities.
However, Mr. Yam©ogo drew attention to the persistent problem of school dropout linked to gold mining. He called on administrative and traditional authorities, parents, and all education partners to strengthen their involvement in order to curb this phenomenon, which jeopardizes the future of many children.
