Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, Niger and Senegal reflected on Thursday, as part of the 5th edition of the pan-African round table, around digital best practices for a real digital transformation in Africa.
According to the representative of the Secretary General of the Ministry in charge of the Digital Economy, Aminata Zerbo, the discussions focused on the experiences of the three countries, Burkina Faso, Niger and Senegal regarding digital transformation.
According to her, the round table of best practices also consisted in creating a showcase of good experiences for the replication and implementation of innovative and transposable digital solutions.
Mr. Zerbo was speaking Thursday, in Bobo Dioulasso during the 5th edition of the Pan-African round table of best practices in the digital field.
She specified that the common vision of African countries is to make digital technology the “base” of economic and social development.
The meeting was under the theme “Digital Transformation Initiatives: Inspiration for the Definition of a Roadmap Based on the Case of Kenya’s“ Digital Economy ”Best Practice Document”.
Aminata Zerbo underlined that this step involves the dematerialization of procedures by making them more “accessible to the populations and by making the administrations more efficient and more productive”.
For the Director General of Information and Communication Technologies (DGTIC) of the Ministry of the Digital Economy, Roch Omar Bougouma, it is important to pool ideas, through the establishment of a forum which is the Pan-African digital round table.
Mr. Bougouma recalled that this edition succeeds four others, the last of which dates from 2013.
These different editions have made it possible to achieve “considerable” results in the sub-region.
He noted that one of the achievements was the Regional Communication Infrastructure Project in West Africa (PRICAO).
