Bondoukuy Official Encourages Agricultural Volunteers to Boost Production

Bondoukuy:The President of the special delegation of Bondoukuy, Lazare Bado, encouraged the agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland in Bondoukuy and Kéra to continue their production efforts during a follow-up visit to their agricultural holdings.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Lazare Bado, accompanied by the Youth Promotion and Professional Integration Service, assessed the progress of the crops and the achievements of the agricultural VDPs, as well as the challenges they face during the agricultural campaign.

In Bondoukuy, the agricultural VDPs have planted three hectares of sorghum, half a hectare of cowpeas, and half a hectare of sesame. They also dug two wells and set up onion nurseries, aimed at developing market gardening activities on an area of about one hectare.

Sabo Yacouba, head of the agricultural VDP in Bondoukuy, noted the creation of onion nurseries and the initiation of gardening activities as significant steps forward.

In Kéra, producers dedicated five hectares to cowpeas, two hectares to sesame, and one hectare to peanuts. Lazare Bado expressed satisfaction with the farms' progress and commended the agricultural VDP for their efforts, urging them to continue their commitment to agricultural production.

Furthermore, Bado emphasized the importance of solidarity, social cohesion, and unity as crucial factors for the success of collective initiatives. He announced the upcoming release of a note encouraging agricultural VDPs to form cooperatives, which would help better structure their activities and enhance the development prospects of their farms.

The diverse agricultural initiatives in Bondoukuy and Kéra highlight the efforts to harness the agricultural potential of the commune.
