Bougouriba: The Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Bougouriba, Adelphe Mosse, presided over a meeting on Friday, April 3, 2026, with school directors and members of school councils of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Bondigui, with a view to evaluating school results and strengthening the appropriation of educational reforms.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting, held in the reception hall of the Bondigui town hall, provided a platform for participants to take stock of the harmonized composition of the second term as well as the first mock exam, before addressing the ongoing changes in the Burkinabe education system.
From a pedagogical point of view, the discussions focused on the analysis of performance, particularly that of the students in the CM2 class. A significant improvement in results emerged, with the success rate increasing from 63.12% in the first mock exam to 72.77% in the standardized exam.
The DPEPPNF explained that this analysis aims to provide an objective reading of the educational situation of the CEB, to identify shortcomings and to propose corrective measures, while capitalizing on good practices to sustainably improve school performance. He urged stakeholders to redouble their efforts to at least reach the previous year's success rate, estimated at 99%.
The second part of the meeting was devoted to discussions with members of the school councils from the 23 educational institutions in the municipality. Mr. Mosse indicated that these consultations are part of the ongoing reforms undertaken by the education authorities, aimed at building a more efficient, inclusive system adapted to national realities.
He also highlighted the strategic role of school councils in governing schools, emphasizing the contribution of parents in promoting locally sourced canteens. In this capacity, he invited them to become more involved in the operation of school fields and gardens, seen as sources of food supply and educational resources.
Regarding school fees, the Provincial Director specified that the annual amount is set at 1,000 CFA francs. However, he encouraged school councils to take initiative when needed, particularly by mobilizing additional resources and developing partnerships to support their respective schools.
Before concluding, Mr. Mosse called on parents to support government initiatives in the process of reforming the education system. The participants praised the quality of the discussions and expressed the wish to see these consultation frameworks held regularly, to strengthen community support for the ongoing educational reforms.
