Boulgou Gendarmerie Relocates from Bittou to Yargatenga Amid Ceremony

Bittou: The president of the special delegation of the commune of Bittou, Mohamed Lamine Diabate, presided over a ceremonial event marking the departure of the territorial gendarmerie brigade from Bittou to the commune of Yargatenga. The event, which involved the raising of the national colors, was attended by various constituted bodies, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and a representative from the General Staff of the national gendarmerie.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the disengagement process included a series of sporting and social activities initiated by civilians and security forces in Bittou since November 1, 2025. These activities aimed to promote social cohesion and strengthen the collaboration between civilians and combat forces.

Abdou Zampaligre, representing the traditional chief of Bittou, praised the cooperation between the local population and the security forces. He expressed gratitude for their efforts in securing the area and wished success to the commander and his men in their new mission in Yargatenga.

Moubarik Guessongo, president of the Bittou municipal coordination of citizen vigilance, paid tribute to the brigade commander, Chief Warrant Officer Banaon Soumie, highlighting the challenging security situation he faced upon his arrival in 2023. Guessongo noted that the ability to organize public ceremonies now indicates significant progress.

The special delegation from the municipality of Bittou presented a certificate of recognition to Chief Warrant Officer Banaon Soumie for his dedication and achievements. The commander expressed his appreciation for the support he received from local authorities and the population.
