Boulgou: The High Commissioner of the Boulgou province, Dom¨gb¨gui¨re Constantin Dabir©, presided over the rotating flag-raising ceremony at the Tenkodogo town hall on Wednesday morning, highlighting the mobilization of local actors and calling for a renewed commitment to meet the challenges of development and social cohesion.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner congratulated the women of the province for their role in the success of International Women's Day in Zabr©, marked by concrete actions on the ground. He emphasized their involvement in social activities, particularly donations, which play a crucial role in fostering local solidarity.
Mr. Dabir© commended the achievements of stakeholders in their respective sectors and paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their daily sacrifices that allow the population to live in relative peace despite a challenging security context. He encouraged public officials and those in security-challenged areas to continue their efforts for the well-being of resilient communities.
The provincial director in charge of culture, Rachid Par©, informed the audience about the upcoming Heritage Month and National Culture Week (SNC). Heritage Month, established in 2023, aims to promote national cultural values, raise awareness of their preservation, and encourage their transmission to younger generations. Within this framework, a regional conference and awareness campaigns are planned. For the SNC, two troupes from the province, "Ensemble Tout Art" and "Tenko Jazz" from Tenkodogo, will represent Boulgou, with appeals made for support to improve their performances.
Speaking at the event, the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Tenkodogo, Sami B©renger Poda, expressed gratitude for the town hall being chosen as the ceremony venue. He affirmed the resilience of community health workers who continue to serve the population despite difficulties and paid tribute to the security forces for their role in maintaining peace.
The High Commissioner also invited the people to maintain the momentum of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation, emphasizing the need for tax compliance and the promotion of local products. The flag-raising ceremony in Tenkodogo served as a platform to galvanize efforts around current challenges, with provincial authorities aiming for harmonious development and strengthened social cohesion in Boulgou.
