Boulgou: The Zonse Basic Education District (CEB) took a significant step toward improving school governance by establishing School Councils (CE) this Thursday, November 13, 2025, in the local schools. This initiative is part of a broader approach aimed at strengthening community participation in the management and development of education, according to stakeholders.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the School Council constitutes a consultation platform bringing together all key education stakeholders at the school level, including school principals, teachers, parents, students, and community representatives. The aim of this structure is to create a space for dialogue to validate school development projects, monitor educational and logistical activities, and mobilize the resources necessary to improve learning conditions, among other things.
The recent launch ceremony brought together all stakeholders, demonstrating a strong and collective commitment to the success of this initiative. Training sessions clarified the roles and responsibilities of members of the various structures, including the School Council Executive Secretariat (SECE). The head of the CEB, Toboure Yigo, expressed his satisfaction with the enthusiasm and involvement of local educational stakeholders, encouraging them to fully embrace this new body.
“The success of education rests on a shared responsibility, requiring the active collaboration of the administration, teachers and the community,” he suggested. This initiative is seen as an important lever to boost local actions aimed at ensuring quality education for the children of Zonse.
