Boulgou: Young People Urged to Make Patriotism a Daily Commitment

Boulgou: The Tenkodogo EventsPlus Vibes5 Association held a public conference on Saturday on the theme: 'Patriotic commitment and civic participation of young people in schools', in order to encourage students to develop love of country. "Patriotism is a responsibility and civic participation is a daily behavior," said the president of Tenkodogo EventsPlus, Sabane Sana, inviting young people to respect the rules, take care of their schools, contribute to peace and defend the values of the Republic.

According to Burkina Information Agency, between calls for responsibility, tributes to youth, and pleas for active citizenship, the speakers stressed the need for young people to embrace republican values in order to build a stable, resilient, and prosperous Burkina Faso. In front of pupils, students, and teachers from several establishments, the officials present reminded them that patriotism is not a slogan, but a code of conduct.

He expressed his gratitude to the partners and individuals mobilized to support the initiative, convinced that such an activity strengthens civic culture and youth leadership. In the same vein, the technical advisor representing the governor emphasized the importance for participants to learn from the lessons learned. "Make these messages guiding principles to become exemplary citizens," he recommended before officially opening the conference on behalf of the governor of the Nakambe region.

Speaking as a guest of honor, the Regional Director of Secondary Education, Mr. Nachor Sorgho, urged students to cherish their country. Illustrating his point with the situation of many nations lacking stability, he reminded them that "only one's homeland allows you to live with dignity."

'You are the future of Burkina Faso. Share the lessons of this conference in your schools. A strong nation is built on engaged and disciplined citizens,' he insisted, also praising the continued commitment of the Defense and Security Forces to protecting the nation and providing patriotic education to the youth. Participants also benefited from awareness messages from Mr. Sami Berenger Pooda, focusing on loyalty to the country, respect for the nation's sacred values, and discipline as the foundation of all development. "No great nation has ever been built on betrayal or indiscipline," he emphasized.

The conference concluded with strong support from students and teachers, who were clearly more aware of their role in strengthening civic engagement. The organizers reaffirmed their commitment to continuing such initiatives to reinforce patriotic spirit in schools in Tenkodogo and throughout the Nakambe region.
