Boulgou: Odette Lankoand©/Yabr©, a resident of the commune of Zons©, showed her generosity by donating a significant amount of equipment estimated at nearly three million CFA francs to the health services, the town hall, and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation includes medical and administrative supplies, such as a large-format photocopier, a computer, blood pressure monitors (electronic and manual), minor surgery kits, gowns, bibs, and various cleaning and hygiene equipment. It also includes cleaning supplies (brooms, mops, squeegees, bleach, soap) for the town hall, as well as a ton of rice donated to the VDP.
The medical and office equipment is intended for the Zons© Health and Social Promotion Centre (CSPS), with the aim of improving the working conditions of staff and the care of patients. According to the donor, this gesture is part of the celebration of International Women's Day. "As a woman, this is my way of marking this day," she stated. She also urged women to demonstrate responsibility and commitment to the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, while emphasizing their central role in development.
Present at the ceremony, the chief medical officer of the Zabr© health district, Dr. Djibril Boro, praised the initiative, which will contribute to strengthening the capacity of the primary healthcare center. For his part, Chief Warrant Officer Madi Nikiema of the Water and Forestry Department, representing the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), expressed his gratitude.
The president of the special delegation (PDS) of Zons©, Wendinmi Fr©d©ric Ou©draogo, welcomed this act of solidarity. He encouraged the sons and daughters of the commune to follow its example and further support local development initiatives. As a token of appreciation, a certificate was presented to the donor.
The traditional and religious authorities present welcomed this initiative, which demonstrates the commitment of local stakeholders to the well-being of the population and the strengthening of social cohesion. The ceremony concluded with a community meal offered to the local people and those who were ill, in a spirit of sharing and solidarity.
