Boulkiemd© Hosts March 8th Celebration Focused on Civic Engagement and Production

Boulkiemd©: On Sunday, March 8, the National Coordination of Women's Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC) marked the event with a large-scale mobilization, between Koudougou and Sourgou, under the banner of civic engagement and production.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the day commenced with a public conference initiated by the provincial coordination. This gathering brought together representatives from the 15 communes of the province, aiming to instill in the activists, nicknamed the "Amazons of the revolution," the ideals of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP).

The organizers' objective was to align women's action with the vision of the President of Faso for real empowerment and active participation in civic oversight. Following the theoretical phase, a delegation from the CNAVC, accompanied by the prefect and president of the special delegation (PDS) of Sourgou, visited the field to understand the realities faced by local producers.

The visit centered on the market garden area of the cooperative society "Teegawend©," a group of 250 women cultivating a site primarily dedicated to onion production. The authorities and coordination team observed the contributions of these women to the local economy and food security of the region.

Despite their achievements, the cooperative faces challenges, particularly the lack of water resources. While the activity generates income that improves their living conditions, the limited water supply hinders expansion efforts.

The women of Teegawend© called for the construction of modern boreholes or wells to ensure crop sustainability. This appeal was supported by the CNAVC, which emphasized that empowering these women is crucial for a peaceful Burkina Faso.

The celebration concluded with gratitude expressed to sponsors and well-wishers, acknowledging the courage of the municipal delegates who attended despite security challenges.
