Boulkiemd©: The Saint Maximilien Kolbe Center Places Health and Social Cohesion at the Heart of Its Patronal Festival

Boulkiemd©: Under the patronage of Abdoul Aziz Koara, president of the special delegation (PDS), the Saint Maximilian Kolbe Medical-Surgical Center celebrated, from August 9 to 16, its patron saint through a series of activities under the theme: "With Saint Maximilian Kolbe, promoting the health of the person and nature."

According to Burkina Information Agency, PDS Abdoul Aziz Koara expressed his gratitude to all staff for this solidarity-based initiative. "This is a week marked by strong humanitarian commitment that strengthens social cohesion in our community," he said.

Patron of the event, No© Nana, customs expert and founder of the Yeelba private health school, welcomed the honor bestowed upon him and paid tribute to the center's director, Father Joseph Kadsondo, for his dedication and vision. "I salute his selflessness, his tireless commitment to the community, and his desire to make the center a benchmark," he said.

Father Joseph Kadsondo, for his part, expressed his satisfaction with the strong turnout observed: "It is a sign that, in the commune of Sabou, we form one family. The center is open to all and participates in the country's efforts in the dynamic driven by the President of Faso," he affirmed.

For a week, the population of Sabou vibrated to the rhythm of the open days of the Saint Maximilien Kolbe Medical-Surgical Center. These days were marked by various activities promoting the holistic well-being of the communities: popular cross-country, aerobics sessions, fairs, blood donations, reforestation, helmet awareness, sanitation day, and free cervical and breast cancer screenings.

The mobile clinic of the Koudougou Regional Hospital Center (CHR) also provided support, while donations of food and medical equipment were given to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). Gala matches (football and volleyball) pitted the FDS against health workers in a friendly atmosphere.

The Eucharistic celebration on August 16 concluded the festivities in a spirit of gratitude and communion. The Saint Maximilian Kolbe Medical and Surgical Center was inaugurated in 2009 in Sabou.
