Sabou: The Sabou municipal field hosted, on Saturday, the 8th edition of the Caiman Cup, under the theme: 'Youth, sport and sovereignty: united for the reconquest and dignity of Burkina Faso.' The event attracted a large audience who came to support the town's sporting youth.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony, chaired by the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Sabou, Abdoul Aziz Koara, was marked by tributes to social cohesion and community solidarity. The PDS welcomed the strong mobilization of the sons and daughters of Sabou, emphasizing that this collective commitment "reflects a spirit of solidarity, unity and fraternity in the service of local development."

For the competition's promoter, Sibiri Ibrahim Rouamba, the Caiman Cup aims to strengthen the municipality's positive image. "The idea is to raise awareness of Sabou, to sell its image, and to position it as an emerging municipality," he explained.

The sponsor of the edition, Colonel-Major Koudougou Abel Zongo, Director General of Civil Protection, reaffirmed his continued support for the initiative. "It is always a pleasure to support this competition. The country is going through difficulties, but as the saying goes, you have to keep a cool head on a warm body. Sport is one of the weapons we use to fight terrorism," he declared.

The penalty shootout gave the Sabou team the upper hand (4-2) which won the trophy, over the Sogpelc© team. The 8th edition of the Caiman Cup was thus held in a spirit of resilience, patriotism and cohesion, illustrating the commitment of the Sabou youth to national sovereignty.
