Burkina: Air-Burkina company urged to rigorous management

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Mobility, Emile Zerbo, urged on Saturday in Ouagadougou, the Director General of Air-Burkina to rigorous management in order to prevent the company from reliving the same difficulties, reports the state daily Sidwaya."Air-Burkina has suffered from poor management. And today, the CEO knows what we expect from him. He should put in place a management system that will allow the company to no longer experience the same difficulties," said the Minister of Territorial Administration and Mobility, Emile Zerbo. The Burkinabe government has set up a recovery plan for the national airline Air-Burkina to meet the transport needs of the population. Last Saturday, the company registered the first plane from China. It is an Embraer 190 with 6 business class seats and 92 economy seats, 2 offices (rear and front) and 6 exits.According to Mr. Zerbo, this is the first time since 1983 that the state has purchased an aircraft. He continued that this acquisition is part of th e vision of the Head of State to put Air-Burkina back on its feet. "Because it is not only a symbol of sovereignty but also a company that is much awaited in Burkina and elsewhere,"For him, this sacrifice is worth it because for months many people have been unemployed following the cessation of Air Burkina flights."For over forty years, we have operated on leases and, with the management difficulties that have arisen, this has put an end to the operation. This new acquisition is a rebirth, because the aircraft is on site and it is up to the company to manage this national flagship," rejoiced the general manager of Air Burkina, Zakaria Traoré.Traoré reassured about the quality of the aircraft. "In the plane what is important is the maintenance. If it is well maintained it has a long life," he concluded.Source: Burkina Information Agency
