This symbolic act was done on behalf of the President of Faso, acknowledging the sacrifices made by citizens during these pivotal moments in Burkina Faso's history.According to Burkina Information Agency, the Burkinabe population took a decisive stand on October 30 and 31, 2014, effectively ending Blaise Compaoré's 27-year rule. Compaoré's attempt to amend the Constitution to extend his presidency beyond 2015 was met with widespread resistance, culminating in the uprising. The nation witnessed another significant event in September 2015 when officers loyal to Compaoré attempted to overthrow the transitional regime.
