Bissa customary chiefs set up, on Tuesday, the High Council of Bissa Customary and Traditional Chieftaincy in order to better organize themselves and participate more in the life of the nation.
It is the palace of Naaba Kougri, canton chief of Zabré, which welcomed, on Tuesday July 9, 2024, the fifteen canton chiefs and the sixty village chiefs who came to set up the governing bodies of their nascent High Council.
It was around 10 a.m. that the chief of the canton of Zabré, whose exit the griots had announced, joined his peers in his palace.
In his introductory remarks delivered by his spokesperson, Naaba Sadigba, president of the association of customary chiefs of the canton of Zabré, he welcomed his hosts and asked for the assistance of Almighty God and the ancestors for the good performance of the meeting.
The head of the canton of Bané, president of the organizing committee, took the floor to present the texts (internal regulations and statutes) of the High Council in order to allow their amendment by
peers.
He also took the opportunity, according to him, to present his Bissa customary chieftaincy cap, the official wearing of which took place on Saturday June 15, 2024 in Garango.
In perspective, he said he had submitted a letter requesting an audience with the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to present to him the High Council of Customary and Traditional Chieftaincy Bissa.
It will also be a question for the High Council of confirming its support for the President of Faso and of setting out its objectives which are the enrichment of culture so that it serves development, social cohesion, security and the peace. The High Council is also planning a fundraiser very soon to support the peace effort.
After the meeting with the large group of chiefs, the canton chiefs, who are only authorized to sit, withdrew behind closed doors for the establishment of the executive office, which proposed the canton chief of Zabré for the presidency of the instance for a period of one year.
