Burkina Faso: 30 Youth Receive Heavy Equipment Operation Certificates from CFP-Abongro

Burkina faso: The Abongro Vocational Training Center awarded certificates in mining equipment operation to 30 young people on Tuesday, including five from the Faso Mªbo agency who received a scholarship of approximately 3 million CFA francs promised by the center on January 24, 2026, during its visit to the agency's site.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Abondance Group Vocational Training Center (CFP-Abongro) organized a certificate presentation ceremony for 30 trainees, 15 from the Yalgo district and 5 from the Faso Mªbo agency, who successfully completed their training in equipment operation.

The training took place in two phases. The first, theoretical phase allowed trainees to acquire knowledge of occupational safety and health, as well as technical concepts related to the machinery. The second, practical phase took place in the field through several sessions dedicated to operating and maintaining the machines, stated Zackaria Ou©ma, Director General of CFP-Abongro. At the end of the process, the beneficiaries are now able to operate the machinery for which they have been trained, to maintain it and to perform the tasks that could be assigned to them on a construction site, the trainer assured.

According to the director general of CFP-Abongro, this training program is a partnership that arose from a call for proposals launched by the municipality of Yalogo seeking a center capable of providing training for its young people. CFP responded to this call and was selected to conduct the session. The president of the special delegation of the commune of Yalogo, Mahamadi Ouar©, was pleased with the completion of this training which will allow the recipients to showcase their skills in the job market.

He also encouraged the recipients to put the skills acquired during their training into practice so that this training would benefit their community and contribute to the development of the municipality. For her part, the head of the Faso Mªbo Agency thanked the training center and encouraged her colleagues to make a difference on the ground by putting their knowledge at the service of the Faso Mªbo Agency.

The participants expressed their satisfaction at the end of the training. One of them, J©r©mie Ou©draogo, indicated that he had completed excavator operation training and was happy to receive his certificate after participating in the theoretical and practical phases. The Abongro Vocational Training Centre operates in several fields, including the operation of mining and construction equipment, heavy equipment mechanics, electricity, building and workplace safety.

He has over five years of experience in vocational training and has representatives in several locations in Burkina Faso.
