Burkina faso: In Djoro, May 15th marked an important occasion as the community celebrated the Day of Customs and Traditions, focusing on rites, knowledge transmission, and a return to cultural roots. The event was characterized by activities such as the preparation of dolo, ritual sacrifices, and prayers to ancestors, reflecting the cultural and spiritual practices of the people in the Djoro region.According to Burkina Information Agency, the 2nd edition of this cultural day was captured in a 26-minute documentary by AIB, showcasing the traditional ceremonies held in Dano and Gaoua. The event was attended by administrative, customary, and religious authorities, alongside a special delegation of Lobi people from Ivory Coast, who joined to engage with the traditional custodians of the Djoro region. The documentary emphasizes the prayers for peace, homage to ancestors, social cohesion, and the celebration of cultural identity, underscoring the significance of this living heritage, which has now been incorporat ed into Burkina Faso's national calendar.
