Kaya: The Mobile Customs Brigade in Kaya intercepted a shipment of 100 drums of cyanide that had been concealed under empty bags. This operation prevented a potential environmental and security threat from materializing.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the dangerous cargo, hidden beneath empty cement bags, was discovered thanks to the vigilance of the Kaya Mobile Customs Brigade. The institution’s communications department highlighted the significance of this seizure, noting that the cargo posed a threat to security, natural resources such as water and wildlife, and the country’s future.
The Director General of Customs, Divisional Inspector Yves Kafando, praised the professionalism of the customs officers involved in the operation. He emphasized the critical role of the Customs administration in safeguarding the nation’s economic interests and security, asserting that they remain on the frontline in these efforts.
